About Us

How it started
Co-working Thursdays CIC was founded by Clare Wilson and Alex Williams, who first met at a networking event in the summer of 2021. At similar stages in their entrepreneurial journeys, they quickly discovered a shared vision and became best business buddies!

In May 2022 they hosted their first co-working event, bringing together like-minded business owners, freelancers and remote workers. Since then Co-working Thursdays has grown into a thriving community with monthly meet-ups where members connect, share insights, seek support and simply enjoy working alongside others.

How it's going
Co-working Thursdays became a CIC in 2024, with Kirsty Waite joining the team in November 2025.
Kirsty is the founder of The Ethical Coaching Company and brings a brilliant mix of business know-how, big-picture thinking and heart. She shares the same values that sit at the core of Co-working Thursdays — building genuine community, supporting one another and running businesses in an ethical, sustainable way. On top of all that, she’s just a genuinely lovely human, which made her a perfect fit for the team and the community that we have built together.
Mission & Values
Collaboration
Co-working Thursdays CIC is committed to providing collaborative and supportive events for professionals, entrepreneurs and freelancers within the community, specifically aimed at women.

Welcoming
These gatherings create a welcoming and supportive environment where women can connect, collaborate and share their experiences. By providing a regular, inclusive space for individuals to work together, the aim is to combat isolation and help women feel more connected and supported in their professional journeys.

Supportive
The events focus on supporting local talent and venues, ensuring that the community benefits from a thriving network of women-led businesses. By encouraging skill swapping and knowledge-sharing we help empower women to achieve their professional goals and build successful, sustainable careers.

Mental Health & Wellbeing
Mental health is a core consideration in all the events hosted by Co-working Thursdays. By creating a space where women can work together, share challenges and find support, the aim is to help reduce stress and isolation often associated with entrepreneurship and freelance work. This, in turn, leads to improved mental well-being and a healthier work-life balance.
